Daniel prayed at his house. Gabriel came and helped him. When he prayed he did not took care of ceremonial cleaning or bathing anything like that (Dan.10:3). David also prayed at his house, prayed seven days for his child. But when his son died, he took bath and then went to the Lord's house (2 Sam. 12:20)
It seems that the requirement for the presence of God is varying between your house and his house.
